How to show media from your computer on your tv wireless

If you have a new TV with a wireless connection, you can stream photos and videos from your computer to your TV using Windows media player. This is very handy when you want to show your photos or videos to family or friends.

Instructions

First you have to connect your TV with your wireless router.

How this works depends on the Tv you have. Most of the times you can do this from your TV menu. Look in the user guide to see how you have to do this.

(I assume that you have already connected your PC to your wireless network. If not do so now)

Now you have to configure sharing of files in your computer.

To access your photos and videos from your TV, you have to configure your Windows media player. You have to start up your Windows Media player on your PC and have to configure media streaming.

Go to your library and click on Stream. Then click Turn on home media streaming.

Now find the media player on your TV.

Now you should be able to find the media player on the TV. How this works depends on the brand and type of TV that you have. Look in the user manual of your TV how this works.

Good luck in streaming you media content to your TV.

Tips & Warnings

If you are not sure if your Home network is properly secured do not activate the media sharing on your PC. You do not want the hole neighbourhood to see your personal photos.

First ask to family or friends (who have knowlegde of computers) to help you in checking the security of your home network.
